BEHIND THE BRAND

From Show Ring to Saddle Tramp — The Story of RH44

If there’s one thing you should know about Riding House 44, it’s this: we don’t do “ordinary.”

Riding House 44 — formerly known as Equestriess Atelier (aka EA) — was founded by Wendy Orant, a lifelong equestrian, designer, and unapologetic horse girl who’s been chasing the next great ride since she could reach the stirrups. 🐎

Wendy’s story started on a little farm in Milton, Massachusetts, where she first learned the magic of horses (and probably how to fall off gracefully) before her family relocated to the Dominican Republic to work in the Citrus industry, she traded New England barns for citrus groves — riding through orchards and dreaming about jumps.

At 12 years old, she attended her first Hunter Jumper show… and that was it. Hooked. From there, she became a competitive Jumper with her first show horse, "Bucefalo (aka Black), showing locally and getting recruited to ride the famous “Troton Gallopero” horses at Dominican equestrian fairs.

Adulthood brought new adventures (and zip codes). Wendy eventually moved back to the U.S., landing in Florida, where she dove headfirst into the Eventing world with her horse Denver (aka Colorado Shadow). A few years later, another move — this time to Utah — brought her back to her hunter/jumper roots, this time with Amigo IV, a charming Swiss Warmblood who made all her ribbon dreams come true.

After Denver and Amigo retired, Wendy decided it was time to hang up her show coat. But don’t think for a second that meant slowing down. She discovered the thrill of adventure riding — exploring Utah’s stunning mountain trails with her beloved string of blue roans, Gunnar & Fergus.

Now, Wendy proudly calls herself a modern-day Saddle Tramp — part designer, part wanderer, and all heart.

Riding House 44 was born from that spirit: a place where tradition meets adventure, and where every rider — show, trail, or somewhere in between — feels at home.

Because whether you’re chasing ribbons, sunsets, or just a little peace and quiet on horseback, Riding House 44 is here to keep you riding in style — wherever the trail leads. 💛
